Joseph knows the true value of hard work, and is no stranger to a humble start. His medical career bloomed from working as a medical assistant in his father's clinic during school season (and on the family's potato farm in the summers) to training at the pathology residency program at the University of California at San Diego. During this time, he became interested in the ethics involved in the medical field and felt the need for a change of professional direction, becoming an attorney.
Earning his Juris Doctorate at the University of Utah, Dr. Joseph F. Brown went on to practice medical negligence law, and participated in a summer clerkship with the Honorable Bruce Jenkins of the U.S. District Court of Utah. He then entered private practice, representing injured and disabled people, before joining forces with veteran attorney E. Lee Schlender to form Schlender-Brown PLLC.
